Top 5 Tuesday w./ Bionic Book Worm and I’m absolutely prepared to just binge Vampire Diaries, alone, in a dark room, with just the world’s thickest blanket because March has decided to be cold and disagreeable.
HOWEVER. this prompt is so important!! it made me remember I have actual goals beyond my tbr pile????
sadly, most of my favorite authors are dead (i.e my Bronte sisters) But some of them are alive and thriving in this world and meeting them could actually happen
**side note, while in the depths of a series for the first time, I’m always too terrified to think about seeing the author. I just read “The Raven Boys” and I feel like it would be too much to meet Maggie Stiefvater, I would turn into a physical puddle. of tears. The immersion is just too strong and she is a master and I adore her and I am pale and sick just imagining it??????????? PRAISE STIEFV.
Authors I Want to Meet
1. Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Ari and Dante are so precious to me & this book is one of my favorites of all time. To understand the concept of soulmates this is the book one must study. He captures human emotions so well, he’s so incredible, I’m so in love.
And I love saying his name???? I had to research the pronunciation and it’s like, a liar signs. I would probably say his name at least twenty times during our meeting and he’d peer at me and realize I’m…..well. but I watched him in an interview and he seems so kind and approachable which I CHERISH because I’m so awkward.
I admire him so much!!!
2. Rainbow Rowell
Because i need to convince her to write a sequel for “Carry On.” I’m coming armed with sleepy kittens and homemade sour cherry scones. And her hair is so lovely, I just want to pat her glorious hair.
3. Deborah Heiligman
This is one of those books that are tragically not popular enough???? if you’re not already in love with Vincent this book will force you to be, and it reads like fiction, and i feel so lonely in this smol fandom.
i want to fangirl with Deborah over Vincent and his brother, and I could talk for hours about how beautiful + intense platonic love is & PLATONIC REP!!!
4. Mackenzi Lee
Monty and Percy are my OTP and I must tell her that in person. & when I picked up this book I was in the middle of existential depression and Monty said he’d save Percy instead of the entire world, and that’s how I thought love should be, and it made me feel better!!! ❤ and her tweets are so funny + relatable.
and she has a book store. *closes case*
5. Cassandra Clare
I’m reading this series for the first time and I should be terrified of Cassandra but I’ve watched so many interviews that I THINK I everything would be fine?? (I’ll probably just faint and there will be a scene)
I so much admire her world-building and I must, without any excuse, finish the Mortal Instruments series this year (and the Clockwork series.)
who would you like to meet???? Is it cold and wet and void of life where you live? *disappointed look at nature*
