his name is Abraham DeLacey Giuseppe Casey Thomas O’Malley.

or sweetest thomas.

& I am so prepared for this week’s prompt. Lately, hyped books have not disappointed me at all?????? and special mention of Cassandra Clare who I didn’t add because I’ve sadly only read “City of Bones” and the rest of Shadowhunter books are on my tbr. BUT that book  lived up to every expectation & is triumphant & a favorite. cassie remains my love.

Top Five Tuesday w/ Bionic Book Worm

top five books that live up to the hype

1. “The Cruel Prince” by Holly Black

I just read “The Cruel Prince” by Holly Black and it was so wonderfully written????? I can’t wait to review it because I have so much to say & it’s my first exposure to faeries (not counting dnf books)

& PRINCE CARDAN reminds me so much of Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries tv show. *i am emotionally defeated and completely useless to society*

damon Prince Cardan

This book has been in every possible giveaway + I’ve seen so many reviews & there might be a film??? I loved the book & even though the end faltered, 3/4 of the book lives up to the hype and I recommend it with all my heart!!! I’ve heard people compare this book to Sarah J Maas (I DNF “Throne of Glass” bc the prose was purgatory) and I hope TCP gets a fan base just as devoted. THAT PRECIOUS POTENTIAL.

2. “Children of Blood and Bone” by Tomi Adeyemi

I’m only about 39% done with this book but already it’s beautiful & there’s so much energy to it & Tomi is a powerful talent in this world. It’s obvious how much passion and art went into creating this universe and I am entirely invested in her characters??? THE POLITICS???? THE SPIRITUALITY??? THE LUSH AFRICAN LANDS???? The way she describes spirituality is how i feel when I’m being spiritual and I just feel such a CONNECTION to Orïsha and I am committed to Tomi forever.

3. Harry Potter series

I’m reading the series for the first time (I finished GoF) and what can I possibly say???? the immersion is unutterable. *is tremendously overwhelmed* MY OWN SLYTHERINS.

my draco/harry dreams will never be fulfilled simon & baz style but….we have to somehow carry on when life disappoints us.

4. “Six of  Crows” series by Leigh Bardugo

Dirtyhands will always be terrifying and beautiful and great. THE AESTHETIC??????? This is my favorite duology.

5. “Carry On” by Rainbow Rowell

Most of the hype I’ve seen for this book comes from BookTube and I was not in the least disappointed. This is one of my favorite books & the relationship between Simon and Baz is everything important in this world.

Do you think these books live up to their hype??? Do you have a favorite BookTuber? also I adore thomas.

Ah, yes, I loved The Cruel Prince! But I still pretty much hate Cardan (and I hated Damon as well, so that’s fitting). 😂 We’ll see in the sequel!

I totally agree about Six of Crows and Harry Potter! And I still haven’t given up on Drarry. Living in my own personal AU where Harry divorced Ginny and he’s with Draco now. And reading so much fan fiction. 👌🏾

I STILL HAVE NOT READ CARRY ON GAH. I have a physical copy of COBAB, and I can’t wait to dive in; I’ve onky heard good things!

I’m simply drooling all over that cute kitten. HE’S GORGEOUS! Makes me wish I wasn’t allergic to cats but unfortunately I am.. since about.. ten years.. I used to have all the cats and now I can barely touch them or I’m sneezing for the rest of the day, booooo.

I read it before the hype even started but I’m so so willing to join that hype because it’s WORTH IT. ❤

YES to Harry Potter and The Cruel Prince. I’m so nervous to read the Six of Crows duology because I really disliked the Grisha trilogy and I didn’t see anything marvelous about Bardugo’s writing. But I’m still giving it a chance, I just hope it’s as good as everyone says.

Omg Thomas has such a long name (it’s actually quite adorable).

So happy to hear you’re enjoying Children of Blood and Bone, and hope you’re gasping etc. as certain events unfold. Cruel Prince was my first fae read that I finished as well (at least from recent memory) and while I liked Cardan as a character in this story, I’m stoked to see where he goes in the next book.
