Blogging Buddies and Books tag ft. bloggers I love + books that remind me of them

I’m so excited about this post!!!

1. Because it’s the very first tag I’ve ever created

2. I made it with one of my blogging best friends, Strawberry Hamilton!!

3. I get to talk about my two favorite things 1) books! and 2) MY BLOGGING FRIENDS!

1. A Blogger You Admire

books that remind me of Lily:

Darius the Great is Not Okay by Adim Khorram // This book is friendship, cleverness, and fluffy wholesomeness which = Lily’s vibe. c:

In Paris With You by Clémentine Beauvais // THE COVER IS SO LILY!!! This is one of those things where you don’t really know why, but something just REMINDS you of someone. And this cover reminds me of her!! + the premise is cute + fun + “written in gorgeous verse.”

books that remind me of Beth:

Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno// Beth introduced me to magical realism, and Summer of Salt is a book in that genre I want to read SO MUCH. + The cover looks like Beth’s personality aesthetic!! Very lovely and imaginative and almost pastel noir.

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire // I’ve had this book on my tbr for so long, because it’s smart + cool + whimsical, all traits which resemble Beth and her really nice blog.

2. Blogger who encourages you to keep blogging

books that remind me of Olivia:

Since You’ve Been Gone Morgan Matson// This book seems so charming and sunshiney and affable,,WHICH IS OLIVIA ALL DAY c:

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee // The cover reminds me of her so muchhh!!!! And I could imagine Olivia being on an adventure with friendly pirates. She would be the best friendly pirate ever. IT’S SO PERFECT FOR HER!!

3. Blogger who always makes you laugh

2 Bouquet.png

books that remind me of Loretta:

Tales of the Madman Underground by John Barnes // I’ve always thought Loretta is so COOL and down-to-earth and just genuinely sweet!! & I think this book has all of those qualities. + It takes place in 1973!!! I’m clueless about music, but Loretta and I could start the coolest 70s band to ever grace this earth. OH GOD, WE MISSED OUR CALLING!

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor // I don’t know WHY precisely, but it just seems Loretta-esque. And the MC has a name that starts with an L, and Loretta’s a self-proclaimed fantasy junkie!! + the cover matches her Expecto Patronum profile hat.

4. Blogger who constantly recommends the BEST reads

2 Bouquet.png

Books that remind me of Becca:

Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta // Becca is a contemporary + fluff + Stiles Stilinski + Emma Mills queen. And I feel like this book has a similar vibe to all of those things. & I love Becca so much.

In a Perfect World Trish Doller // THE COVER!! IT’S BECCA’S AESTHETIC. This book is about a girl named Caroline who is supposed to be enjoying her senior year at home, but instead is whisked away to Cairo, Egypt for her mom’s work. And in Cairo she finds culture + A SWEET BOY! This plot is for Becca. I’m gift wrapping it and everything.

Books that remind me of Marija:

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren // MARIJA IS SO DEAR TO ME skljdflksjd. Our friendship started when she made a reading list for Adam from TRC, and I’m still addicted to her reading list segment. AND JOSH AND HAZEL IS SUCH A GREAT BOOK!! It’s contemporary but there are some low-key angsty themes, and the whole is perfect for Marija.

Pride by Ibi Zoboi // This book seems so elegant and wise!!!! The aesthetic for this reminds me of Marija so much.

5. Your doppelganger blogger (similar style, reading taste, basically your blogging twin)

5x7 1

books that remind me of Birdie:

What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera // Birdie and I love gay love stories, and I think we’re both going to be overwhelmed by Team! Becky + Adam. IT’S ALMOST TOO MUCH FOR ME EMOTIONALLY. I feel like Birdie is actually me, but with more chill. How else can one explain how we fangirl over the exact same characters? We were meant to be best friends.

Ollie Always by John Wiltshire // When I was cleaning up my tbr which consisted of adding new books and deleting nothing I noticed the book cover + premise and I immediately thought I should tell Birdie. It has this empathetic, honest atmosphere which is completely her. FIRST. THE COVER! It feels very “Birdie” to me. Then, it’s a very psychological, slow-burn m/m love story, all qualities she loves.

Also the other books you've picked are amazing; I am so excited to read The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy and Darius the Great is Not Okay, and I LOVE Strange the Dreamer. Anything by Laini Taylor is always going to be a favourite of mine.

Yeah, it’s such an incredible book. I still need to read the others in the series but I feel like I should re-read EHAD first, and I’ll be sure to let you know what I think of Summer of Salt too. 🙂
Oh, that’s a shame, but it just means you’ll have to keep your eye out at the library until you find it again (it’s worth reading despite the length!) 😀 ❤

MAAAAAALANIE!!!! Thank you so much for including me in this lovely tag!! 😭 And you’re just THE SWEETEST EVER??? I’m so excited that I’ve apparently got a retro vibe because I’m convinced I was born in the wrong era. But we would TOTALLY rock a super cool 70’s band!! We would be UNSTOPPABLE!! I’ve added that book to my TBR because it sounds awesome! And I just bought the Strange the Dreamer audiobook!

I absolutely love tag like this because it’s a chance to find more new blogs to read!

My favorite book bloggers would be Marie, the one who owns Nose Graze (I don’t remember her name lol) and YOU!

I’m an avid reader but not a fan of book bloggers who focus mainly on reviews so I like blogs that have the perfect amount of reviews, lists and discussions posts.

p/s: I’m going to steal the tag 😘

MALANIE. I am actually TEARING UP right now, because your description of those books in relation to me is so wonderful, and I’m so incredibly touched. Thank you a million times for making my entire day with your sweet words, and sndfjdjsdf I LOVE U. 😭💘

I’ve already been so excited to read Darius the Great is Not Okay, but I’m dying to get my hands on In Paris With You now. And I’m currently unable to string more words together, but you are an angel, and I’m sending you all the kindest, warmest thoughts in the universe!! 💓💓

Also, I can’t wait to check out the few bloggers I don’t know yet – I adore Olivia, though, and Beth, and Marija, and Becca, they’re all so such amazing people. :’)
